DNIS (Dialed Number Identification Service)
Description
Change the name of an incoming call. You can change the name of a specific trunk incoming call to specify which trunk the call comes in just from the name displayed.
Use Case
DNIS is a telephone service that enables a company to identify which telephone number was dialed. Users could configure DNIS to allow the IP phones to display which trunk is passing the call. For example, a company may have different numbers for different areas of customer support. DNIS can help to direct the call to the appropriate place and provide support in the right language.
